the Right Way
If you’re just running the vacuum over the cushions and calling it a day—you’re missing a lot. Couches collect dust, crumbs, pet hair, and everything else that doesn’t make it to the floor.

Here’s how to do it properly:
- Remove the cushions – If they come off, take them off. Get underneath.
- Use the upholstery attachment – That wide, flat head with fabric strips? That’s the one.
- Vacuum all surfaces – Back, arms, seat, under the cushions, and the sides.
- Crevice tool for tight spots – Run it along seams, edges, and between cushions.
- Don’t forget underneath – Tilt the couch back and check for dust or pet hair buildup near the legs or base.

For regular cleanings, this should be enough. For deep cleans, consider steam cleaning or using a fabric-safe cleaner after vacuuming.
A well-vacuumed couch not only looks better—it smells better and lasts longer.
