It’s not something most people think about—but yes, during a deep clean, the ceiling should get some attention too. Here’s how to do it safely and efficiently:
1. Dust First
- Use a vacuum with a long extension wand.
- Attach either the floor head or the upholstery tool.
- Stand firmly on the floor, look up, and vacuum slightly behind you. Extend the wand over your head and pull it gently backward. This gives you better control and coverage.

2. Spot Clean Only When Needed
- For visible spots, use a stepladder with an armrest or a ladder—but don’t climb too high. Stay a few rungs down so you have support.
- Use a lightly damp cloth or sponge.
- Clean only where needed—this isn’t the time to scrub every inch.
- Move slowly and carefully to avoid dizziness or losing balance. If possible, have someone nearby to spot you.

Reminder:
This isn’t part of regular cleaning. It’s best saved for deep cleaning days or one-time personal projects like prepping for a move or refreshing a neglected room.
The goal is just to remove buildup—not to make it spotless. Be safe and take your time.
